Remembering Rachel - I'm here because I care

Rachel Corrie
10 April 1979 - 16 March 2003

We have got to understand that they dream our dreams and we dream theirs.
We have got to understand that they are us. We are them.

Tomorrow, 16 March, will mark the day seven years ago that Rachel Corrie, an American peace activist, was brutally crushed to death by an Israeli bulldozer while opposing the bulldozing of a Palestinian home in Rafah.

She was an extraordinary human being who realised her life task from a very early age. Her compassion and deep love for humanity remain an inspiration to us all.

An exerpt from Rachel's 5th grade speech at a Conference on World Hunger in 1990:

"I’m here for other children.
I’m here because I care.
I’m here because children everywhere are suffering and because forty thousand people die each day from hunger.
I’m here because those people are mostly children.
We have got to understand that the poor are all around us and we are ignoring them.
We have got to understand that these deaths are preventable.
We have got to understand that people in third world countries think and care and smile and cry just like us.
We have got to understand that they dream our dreams and we dream theirs.
We have got to understand that they are us. We are them.
My dream is to stop hunger by the year 2000.
My dream is to give the poor a chance.
My dream is to save the 40,000 people who die each day.
My dream can and will come true if we all look into the future and see the light that shines there.
If we ignore hunger, that light will go out.
If we all help and work together, it will grow and burn free with the potential of tomorrow."

In an e-mail sent to her parents from Rafah, Palestine shortly before her death, she wrote about the suffering of the Palestinian people under the Israeli occupation:

"This has to stop. I think it is a good idea for us all to drop everything and devote our lives to making this stop. I don't think it's an extremist thing to do anymore. I really want to dance around to Pat Benatar and have boyfriends and make comics for my co-workers. But I also want this to stop. Disbelief and horror is what I feel. Disappointment. I am disappointed that this is the base reality of our world and that we, in fact, participate in it. This is not at all what I asked for when I came into this world. This is not at all what the people here asked for when they came into this world. This is not what they are asking for now. This is not the world you and Dad wanted me to come into when you decided to have me."

The parents of American activist Rachel Corrie, who was killed by an Israel Defense Forces bulldozer in Gaza, took part in a ceremony in Ramallah on Tuesday, where a street is being named after Rachel.

The ceremony was attended by Palestinian anti-fence protesters as well as members of the International Solidarity Movement, the organization to which Rachel Corrie belonged...

Please join us for the March Equinox event!

Equinox group distant healing event
19 March 2010

Autumn Equinox in the South
Spring Equinox in the North

-All are welcome to participate in this event -

Updated late April with all the info related to what came up in this event for participants as well as on a planetary level. Detailed reports have been posted at Zoho, and all the links can be viewed at this page.

-------------------------------

The Earth Heal Geoharmonic Research Project will be hosting a group distant healing event on Friday 19 March, starting at 2 pm local Brazilian time, which is 5 pm GMT/Universal Time, in preparation for the actual moment of Equinox the next day, 20 March.

The event will continue for about 3 to 4 hours, ending between 8 and 9 pm GMT/Universal Time. To check the starting time of this event in your part of the world, please go to this link.

All people and animals everywhere in the world are welcome to join us for this event, either on a once-off donation basis or by opting for annual membership to Earth Heal, and being included in all our distant healing events for the coming year. Those in disadvantaged circumstances are included on a pro bono basis, so please feel free to be part of this event.

The treatment will include more than 200 participants globally, and will be facilitated in Praia do Frances on the NE coast of Brazil by Edna Spennato, working under guidance from the collective Higher Self of the group.

Six surrogates, in Brazil, South Africa, the U.K., the USA, and Austria will anchor incoming healing energy during the treatment process and release the energies that are "no longer needed" on behalf of the participants and the planetary morphic field as a whole.

General info

During the treatment process, we will be working with the energy field of each participant individually and as part of the group, and participants will be anchoring the planetary healing energies in their part of the world, releasing disharmonic energy and receiving healing energy on an individual and collective level.

We use a cutting-edge distant healing method known as Synchronization Harmonics, and for those who have never before experienced distant healing work, this is the ideal opportunity.

Feedback from those who participated in the recent Full Moon event of 30 January can be seen at this link.

After each healing event, feedback and detailed reports about what came up during the treatment process for the group, as well as for the collective consciousness on a planetary level, are mailed to participants.

First-time participants should e-mail us their details and pics as soon as possible, and no later than midnight GMT/UT on Thursday, 18 March.

Equinox

This is an opportunity to harmonise our rhythms with the solar cycle and to utilise the powerful incoming energies available for personal and planetary healing on this special day.

Equinox occurs only twice in the year, when the sun is directly over the equator, and the days and nights are of equal length all over the world, representing a time of balance between the light and the dark. The exact moment of Equinox will happen the day following our event, on 20 March, at 17:32 (or 5:32 pm) GMT/Universal Time.

On Equinox, the Earth and Sun are in perfect balance and harmony, with the sun centered between the northern and southern hemispheres, and between Heaven and Earth, creating a balancing of energies which naturally harmonizes the planet and humanity.

In the northern hemisphere, the Spring Equinox symbolizes the time to sow the seeds for the future we are manifesting, while the Autumn Equinox in the southern hemisphere represents the time to harvest what we have sowed and nurtured over the past season.

Ancient traditions and architecture aligned to the Equinox

Ancient traditions regarded the Equinox as a powerful time to initiate changes and shift into a new reality, and a vast number of ancient cultures built their tombs, temples, cairns and sacred observatories so that they aligned with the Solstices and Equinoxes.

The astronomical Persian calendar begins its New Year, also known as No-Ruz, on the day when the March equinox occurs before apparent noon (the midpoint of the day, sundial time, not clock time) in Tehran. The start of the New Year is postponed to the next day if the equinox is after noon, as it will be this year.

The No-Ruz celebration of spring in Iran lasts for about 12 days and dates back to pre-Islamic times. Preparations begin well in advance and include purchasing new clothes for all family members and thoroughly cleaning homes. Wheat or lentil representing new growth is grown in a flat dish a few days before the New Year and is called Sabzeh (green shoots). Decorated with colorful ribbons, it is kept until the 13th day of the New Year, and then disposed outdoors.

Higan, or Higan-e, is a week of Buddhist services observed in Japan during both the spring and autumn equinoxes. Both equinoxes have been national holidays in Japan since the Meiji period (1868-1912). In Tunisia, March 20 is Independence Day.

Egypt's Great Sphinx, built at least 4 500 years ago, directly faces the rising sun on the Equinox in March and September.

But perhaps the most dramatic equinoctial event is the descent of the feathered serpent at the pyramid of Quetzalcoatl at Chichen Itza on the Yucatan peninsula in Mexico. The 90-foot pyramid is aligned so that on the Equinoxes the movement of the afternoon sun casting shadows and light across one side gives the startling impression of a serpent of fire slithering down the seven steps (regarding as representing the seven chakras) of the pyramid.

This amazing spectacle ends with the Sun lighting up the huge stone serpent's head at the base of the pyramid. The descent of Quetzalcoatl, the feathered or plumed serpent, is believed to represent transcendence through the movement of Kundalini energy from the Earth and the cosmos, to the base of the spine, then up the spine.
